JEWISH NATIONAL FUND ANNOUNCES BONNIE & JOHN BUHLER AS 2012 HONOUREES

The Jewish National Fund of Canada – Manitoba/Saskatchewan Region is pleased to honour Bonnie & John Buhler at the Negev Gala to be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Centennial Concert Hall in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
 
“It is truly a privilege for the Jewish National Fund to pay tribute to Bonnie & John, stated regional president Mel Lazareck. They have generously committed themselves to Manitoba and remain passionate leaders in philanthropy.”
 
Bonnie & John Buhler have touched many lives through their charitable offerings to numerous organizations. They have supported hospitals and care facilities such as Victoria General Hospital, Seven Oaks Hospital, St. Amant Centre, St. Boniface Hospital & Research Foundation, the Misericordia Hospital Eye Care Centre and the Health Sciences Centre. The Buhler’s have also generously given to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, the Manitoba Children’s Museum, several Winnipeg parks, the Town of Morden, the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra as well as several educational institutions including Red River College.
 
“We believe strongly in the significant contributions that the Jewish National Fund delivers to the citizens of Israel, remarked Bonnie Buhler. John and I have been extremely impressed with the JNF’s commitment to enhancing quality of life by partnering with other organizations and local municipalities to provide employment and education opportunities, building reservoirs and agricultural infrastructure to bring economic viability to newly developed areas and generally improving the self-image of a community.”
 
Founded in 1901, the Jewish National Fund has evolved into a global environment leader, planting over 240 million trees, constructing more than 200 reservoirs & dams and developing over 250,000 acres of land while creating more than 1000 parks and providing stable infrastructure for over 1000 communities.
 
The Negev Gala has honoured outstanding leaders from within the Winnipeg community since 1953. This gala is the JNF’s most important fundraising event of the year. All proceeds generated are directed to environmental research and development projects in the State of Israel.
